The Imperfect God

God is perfect, right? Have you really analyzed that statement? Most have not because if you really look at just our small world, you will see that if God created everything, he could not be perfect. That’s a reality I know you don’t want to face if you are a “believer” in God.

I was born and converted to Christianity by my parents. I say converted because you have no religion at birth. You are taught who and what God is by you parents or guardians. What my parents taught me is that God is perfect and created everything that exists. I grew up thinking this until I was able to learn and question things for myself.

I was taught about the story of the devil who was an angel. Not only was he an angel, he was the most perfect angel. Somehow this angel, who doesn’t have the gift of will by the way, was corrupted by what, I don’t know. The question is how because he was either designed to go corrupt or there was a flaw in his design.

Think about that last statement. Now look at Isaiah 45:7:

“I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.”

God created evil? Why? That sounds like intent right? But look at Genesis 6:5-6:

“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.”

It says that God repented. Repent means to feel sorry, self-reproachful, or contrite for past conduct; regret or be conscience-stricken about a past action, attitude, etc. This means God felt sorry for what he did. That sounds like a mistake.

So God either intentionally created a devil good and by design he was corrupted or God intended for the devil to be good, like man by the way, and some flaw in his design made him corrupt. Is this starting to make sense in your mind?

So again I ask is God perfect? “Of course He is!”, you might say. Then you have to ask why is there imperfection if a perfect being created EVERYTHING? How can imperfection come from a perfect being? How can a perfect being not create things perfect? If you say they were perfect, I ask then where did the imperfection come from if not God?

These are the type of common sense questions asked by Dr. Malachi K Z York in his writings like What Is God Doing for You?, Dr. York profoundly questions the concept of God we have been taught in our religious doctrines.

These are the type of questions that breaks the spell of religion that has our minds not seeing the obvious character flaws in this man-made God character. Fortunately, you are able to read this information and lift that fog off of your eyes that has been cast upon by beings that don’t have your best interests in mind.
