Does God Love You?

A child is talking to his father. The child asked his father “Do you love me daddy?” The father said to the child “Son, you know I love you with all of my heart.” The child asked the father “Would you do anything for me daddy?”

The father says to the child “Son, I would do anything in my power to help you or prevent you from being hurt.” The son says “If I fell to the ground what you catch me if you could daddy?” The father says “Son if I could prevent you from hurting yourself I would son. That’s how much I love you.”

The child asked his father “Does God love me?” Father says to the child “of course he does son.” The child asks his father “Does God love you?” The father says “Why yes he loves me to son. He loves everyone.”

The child then asked “Why doesn’t God catch everyone that falls or hurts themselves? Why does he just watch them fall? Why does he watch them get hurt? Why doesn’t the do everything in his power to prevent those people from getting hurt like you would do for me, daddy?”

Now, this isn’t a real story. But if you really think about it, you get the point. The point is that if you are a parent and have a child that you love dearly, you would do anything in your power to prevent that child from being harmed in any way. This is why parents, who have the ability, move to better neighborhoods.

This is why parents put their children in better schools. This is why parents buy helmets and knee-pads with their children’s bicycles. No one truly wants to see their children hurt or any child for that matter. Let alone no good parent would watch their child get in harm’s way and do nothing.

But this is what we are taught about God. We are taught that God loves us. We are taught that this love is greater than any love we have ever known. But yet God watches the countless number of his children get hurt, get robbed, get killed, get murdered, and whatever horrible thing you can think of that happens to human beings on this planet.

According to what we are taught about God being our heavenly father, he would be one of the worst parents of all times. In fact, if you were to act as God does when these types of things happen to children, the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) take your children away from and put you behind bars.

You probably heard of instances where a child is abused by a parent or step-parent. The other parent knows of the abuse. When the authorities become aware of this situation they arrest both parents; the parent that does the abuse and the parent that just witnesses it and does nothing.

We have turned a blind eye on the fact that all the atrocities that are committed on this planet are witnessed by God. In some instances where it seems a miracle is taking place, we say God intervened. But we forget the countless number of acts that God witnesses but does nothing.

This is one of the premises behind the many books in the God series authored by Dr. Malachi Z K York. The God they had given us is really an evil malicious being. Only an evil and malicious being would allow evil and malicious acts to be committed in his presence and not intervene. This is not our God. Is it yours?  Now ask yourself, does God love you?
